Stavanger, Norway - Seminar

Arrived safely in Europe, and have had a great time so far! Have done 2 of the 9 seminars! The seminars have been great with everyone, being so welcoming and nice! It's really hot here at the moment, a bit different to how I left Sydney last week.
The first seminar was in the beautiful town of Stavanger, Norway. It was a great day and was fantastic to meet so many of the local up and coming photographers in Norway! Thanks Guy's for a great day, and putting up with a bit of my Jet lag! The day after the seminar we drove all day down to the port to get on the ferry to Denmark, It was an awesome drive with some breath taking views! (It did test Phil's driving skills though!) Well just sitting in Brisbane airport waiting for a flight back to Sydney to shoot a Wedding tommorow. Have just seen my prints judged at APPA, and through some tough judging well.........I did alright!

Here's a few images that we did a couple of weeks ago now for Jackson & Lillian. This was there all day pre-shoot, they will actually be getting married in Hong Kong later this year. We had a great time hoping around the city to get these shots, that eventually lead to finishing in the Rocks later that night. Enjoy!

Well, have been in Cape Town for a few days now. What a beautiful country this is! Loads of scenery to photograph! Had the wedding yesterday which was a complete blast to photograph! Shot loads of really beautiful stuff!!! May even have my Award prints for this year!!! Look out for the wedding photos to come up soon. Photos and Photoshop Tour!

Really excited as we have put the final touched on the details for the Photos and Photoshop Gen-Y Tour.

The tour will be conducted this September in three Australian cities. Joining me will be Daniel Capobianco from Wicked Images, and my fiance Jessica Nalywajko (Soon to be Schembri!) This is going to be a great couple of days, that shouldn't be missed! We will be going through, three unique and different style of post processing and the workshop on the second day should be awesome with everyone playing along with us on their provided laptops!!! WPPI 2008 - Las Vegas

Wow, what an amazing trip to WPPI 2008! So much to tell you all, and having just arrived in Cancun Mexico so little time! We'll after shooting Nuno & Priscilla's Wedding on Saturday, Jess and I where up very early sunday morning for our flight to Vegas, and after 15 hrs flying we arrived in Vegas at 1.30pm. By 2pm I was at the rehearsal for the Young Guns Program........... With an hours rest we kicked off the young guns programme infront of a crowd of nearly 2000 people, plus an overflow room with a live feed of the video footage! All that said - to say I was nervous would be a massive understatement!!!!!!!! All went extremely well..........the program was a huge success and will hopefully see a return next year! (See pics below, big thanks to Kenny Kim!)

After a big night out following the talk, we were all up nice and early for the first day of the trade show. This show is always so amazing to see, with so many people and so many products to try and buy, it's Disneyland for Photographers.

The next couple of day's where a bit of a blur, in between catching up with old friends, talking shop and Damien Bredberg and I trying to drink each other under the table! It was so great to see both Damien and Louise (his beautiful girlfriend), it really added to the enjoyment that we had in Vegas this year.

On the Tuesday afternoon I had my masterclass, which was great! It was really awesome to meet all of the photographers that attended the class, and i hope you all got alot out of it!

Wednesday night was the night we had all been waiting for! The announcement of the Award winners for the 2008. I am pleased to say that there was some great news! For the third year in a row I won the WPPI International Wedding Print of the year (8x10)! Immediately after it was announced that I also won the Photojournalism print as well! I was over the moon! They then went into announcing the winners for the 16x20 comp, and well good news there as well! I had taken 1st Place for Individual portrait! This was great news and was joined by the fact that Australian photographers had taken 7 of the 10 grand awards offered on the night!

WPPI was over for another year, but we all can't wait to return in 09, at the MGM!

It was onto Cancun for a well deserved break!

On a personal note, I have the most exciting news of all! Last night on the beach in Canun, I proposed to Jess, and I'm glad to say she said YES! And we are now an engaged couple!!!! I can't believe it, and now can't wait to come home and share in the good news with everyone!

(Of course i managed to grab a shot after she stopped crying!)

Will be back soon to update with more images from Vegas, but my Fiance' is hungry and we need to find a restaurant!
